The second Day of the semester was good and interesting. We started the day finishing notes on Ferris and non-Ferris metals. The class was on that subject for an hour and a half. We have written three pages of notes so far and I plan to write much more. After a fifteen-minute break for the day we started on the Alloys and Aluminum. There are many different materials added to metals to make them stronger or if needed weaker. A few of the metals have a high corrosion rate. That is when the companies send it to get what is called ALCLAD. This puts a thin coat on both sides of a sheet of metal. The thin coating sprayed onto the sheet of metal is one hundred percent aluminum. That is the basics of what I have learned today. Tomorrow we are learning about the labeling of hardware.

Today was the starting of the secong semester at the Vincennes Aviation Tech. This semester started out with learning the basic metals of and aircraft and how to read the codes of the metals. The focus of today was ferris metals. Fe stands for iron, Ferris means iron based metals. Tommorow we are going to get into non-ferris metals. These metals are not iron based and can be alloyed.
